全片以情感充沛的文學視度，重新回顧解讀外省族群七十多年以來，寄託於簡陋眷村之中的顛沛流離命運。片中不僅引用大量的文學片段，更訪問到許多出身眷村第一代、第二代的重量級台灣作家。
