　　途中，两人结识了名为段飞（吴启明 饰）的男子，三人之间结下了坚实的友谊。寻得了金斧，两人却意外放出了妖王（罗莽 饰），之后，月童和段飞均爱上了名为小蝶（刘玉翠 饰）的美丽女子，两人因此而决裂。其实，小蝶的真实身份为雀妖，在一番波折之后，她终于与月童走到了一起，正当两人沉浸在幸福之中时，段飞却杀了他们一个措手不及。

　　上海滩上龙争虎斗，仇杀漫天。大学生许文强（周润发 饰）经历过失败的学生运动后，只身来到上海，他与小贩丁力（吕良伟 饰）成为至交，并在同学方艳云的帮助下，混入黑帮，并凭借自己的勇谋成为帮派头目。上海法租界大亨冯敬尧看中许文强的才干，想招其至门下，被文强婉言谢绝。许文强偶然救了冯敬尧之女冯程程（赵雅芝 饰），赢得其爱慕。在一次帮派纠纷中，许文强与丁力走投无路，投靠了冯敬尧。程程对文强紧追不舍，终于打动了他，两人计划结婚。此时，许文强发现了冯敬尧勾结日本人卖国，几经思索，他选择了背叛冯敬尧杀死日本人。为了躲避冯敬尧的追杀，许文强逃到香港，遇上成叔一家，决心过平静日子。程程追到香港，引来了冯敬尧的爪牙，成叔一家被害。许文强返回上海，开始复仇计划。程程求文强离开和她一起远走高飞，但被拒绝，失望的她嫁给一片痴心的丁力。许文强在丁力的帮助下成功复仇后，他决心去找远走法国的程程，却葬身在日本人的枪林弹雨之中。

　　霍东觉（刘续民 饰）是霍元甲的儿子，和霍元甲的徒弟陈真（梁小龙 饰）相依为命，两人浪迹江湖，快意恩仇。陈真一直严格要求霍东觉，希望他能够成长为一个正直有为的青年。东瀛武者佐藤（郑雷 饰）想要在中华武林里作威作福，为了打击佐藤的渐渐抬头的势力，陈真决定重建精武门。
　　遭遇了打击的佐藤心中十分不甘，于是绑架了霍东觉，想要以此诱惑陈真自投罗网。得知霍东觉遭到绑架的消息，陈真心急如焚，当即决定只身勇闯虎穴。然而，敌人为数众多，陈真寡不敌众，最终中了佐藤的奸计不幸遇害。然而，临死之前，陈真豪气盖天，大大削弱了佐藤一党的力量，弘扬了中华雄风。
