　　关家仁（林家栋 饰）是一名收数员，为了维持生计，在业余时间，关家仁还做着代客泊车的兼职。罗萨（梁咏琳 饰）是关家仁的太太，因为在自己的丈夫身上看不到未来，最终，罗萨决定离开关家仁，留下了两人的儿子阿明由关家仁一人抚养。
　　一次偶然中，关家仁结识了名叫刘可儿（袁洁莹 饰）的女子，两人因为意外而成为了欢喜冤家。关家仁的工作越来越忙，逐渐没有时间照顾阿明了，为了给阿明找一个妈妈，关家仁和温柔的王思思（赵静仪 饰）走到了一起，但最终，这段缘分没能够走到最后。而关家仁和刘可儿在吵吵闹闹之中，早已经将各自的心暗许给了彼此。

　　1949年，决定中国命运的三大战役相继落下帷幕，国民党在大陆的统治日薄西山，风光不再。面对山雨欲来风满楼的局面，蒋氏集团依旧做着最后的挣扎。为了巩固国民政府的统治，保密局炮制了一份秘杀名单，名单涉及国军内部众多思想先进的将领以及党内外的民主进步人士。中共方面获知名单的存在，于是授意潜伏于国民党国防部的地下党员沈剑秋（靳东 饰）追查名单的下落和详情。为此，沈有意接近委员长侍从室的特工林怡，结果招致保密局行动处处长蒋公绰的嫉妒和猜疑，蒋旋即对其真实身份展开追查。
　　围绕这份攸关数十人命运的名单，各方势力相继卷入其中，上演了一场充满理想与自由的血泪传奇……

　　故事背景在现代，话说于每一个世代都会出现一个年青的女孩子，在人世间寻找及对付一些妖魔鬼怪，例如有吸血鬼、坏女巫等等邪恶的势力，而这个年青的女孩子则被称为Slayer，亦即是本剧中的女主角——Buffy。故事的开始是因 Buffy在L.A.的学校中捉拿吸血鬼的时候把整个体育馆弄倒了，故被学校踼了出来，之后她的母亲Joyce与她搬到加州名叫Sunnydale的一个地方生活，但原来这一切也是命运的安排。
