　　故事发生在清朝末年，当时淮河瘟疫肆虐，龙大爷与结拜金兰方秀才赴疫区救治，却发现此疫为人祸，凶手是与大奶奶（陈莎莉 饰）通奸的龙二爷（李子雄 饰）。二爷不念手足之情，联手大奶奶将胞兄杀死，然后嫁祸方秀才，方夫人逃命途中错抱龙二私生子。数年后，龙家后代被关家收养，取名厚朴（钟汉良 饰），他成长于悬壶济世的关家，自幼学会了慈悲为怀。而方家之子舞笙（刘恺威 饰）则娇生惯养，成了少爷。他俩都对镜心（吕一 饰）产生爱意，而镜心则更顷心于厚朴。龙家的莲生（杨蕊 饰）也是非厚朴不嫁，但她并不知道厚朴是她的亲哥哥。就在这时，方秀才妻子回来了，她要讨回当年死去的冤魂......

　　The show follows Gemma (Aimee Lou Wood), who lives for the weekend when she can get blasted and party hard in Stockport, Manchester. But after joining the mile high club with a random hook-up on her way back from a holiday to Portugal, she's pregnant, and it couldn't come at a worse time.
