　　为了出人头地而挣扎的前摔角神童准备隐退，直到遇见一位老朋友之后重新燃起热情。

　　该剧讲述了二十世纪九十年代初的中西部山区，赵、柳两个不同姓氏的村庄因为一场天灾合并成一个村子，村支书赵书和对由于自然灾害和两个村子多年积怨等原因造成的贫困现状痛心疾首，一心想改变家乡的贫困面貌，同时，他还要处理好与以柳大满为代表的柳氏村民之间的关系。当年曾经跟随父亲下放到村子里的国文对这片土地有着深厚的感情，他与赵书和、柳大满在少年时都是好友，国文进入政府部门工作后始终关注着村里的情况，让这片土地摆脱贫困也是他的多年夙愿。三个人为了摆脱贫困做出各种努力和尝试，两代人前赴后继投身扶贫事业，最终使村庄彻底摆脱了贫困。

　　Syfy电视台发布公开声明称将与《蝙蝠侠：黑暗骑士崛起》、《超人：钢铁之躯》编剧大卫·S·高耶联手打造一部背景设定在超人故乡氪星，聚焦超人祖父故事的剧集。此外，剧集还曝光了一张《氪星》的官方Logo海报。
　　从故事设定来看，《氪星》与讲述吉姆·戈登起源故事的《哥谭》有异曲同工之妙。据Syfy透露，《氪星》的故事将早于超人被送往地球以前的很多年，当时的氪星混乱不堪。故事讲述了超人的祖父如何将希望与和平带往氪星，并将其打造成人们心目中英雄的诞生地。
　　据了解，剧集目前仍在筹备之中，演员与播出时间等都尚无消息，大卫·S·高耶将与《童话镇》编剧Ian B. Goldberg一同撰写剧本。
