2019年3月8日，美国国家女子足球队对美国足球协会（USSF）提起性别歧视诉讼，要求同工同酬。以数据来看，美国女足在各大比赛中赢得的冠军比男足多，按场次来算的工资率却比男性更低。通俗来讲，男足赢一场球赛就可以获得100元，而女足需要三场胜利才能获得一样的报酬。历年来，美国足球协会从未给女足队主动提供过与男足队同样的薪资待遇，以及训练条件待遇，出行待遇。她们最终忍无可忍，将自己的公司——美国足球协会告上法庭，而足协提交的法庭文件中却提出“男球员需要承担更多的责任”，“男球员需要更高水平的速度和力量”，“科学来讲，女性天生就达不到一样的标准”。这些言论彻底激怒了社会大众，纷纷站出来为女性不平等待遇发声。而这场对于性别歧视的诉讼还没有结束......                                                                      　　“世界各地的情况都一样，无论你是高管，是家庭佣工，还是足球运动员，同样的工作，女性的薪水会更低...“                                                                      　　不仅仅是薪资待遇，在其它方面女性运动员一直受到着不平等的待遇。在今年七月份举行的欧洲沙滩手球锦标赛上，挪威女选手因为违反规定而被罚款1500欧元，原因是“着装不当”。并不是因为运动员暴露太多才被批，而是因为没有穿比基尼泳裤。                                                                      　　如今，女性运动已经崛起，各种女性运动项目的收看人数屡创新高。一些协会不能再用“吸引眼球”，“没有男运动员带来的收益高”这种荒唐的借口来搪塞。                                                                      　　“想想国家是如何建立起来的，想想种族不平等，想想女性没有投票的时候。这些改革必须承担风险，都来之不易。如果想让世界看起来像样，我们必须努力为之奋斗。”

Sixteen new hopefuls are ready to take the runway by storm and make fashion history. Host Karlie Kloss is back, along with Christian Siriano as the mentor and returning judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth, to decide who has what it takes to make it in this industry. Each 90-minute episode will feature the return of some fan-favorite elements, including the “Siriano Save,” in which Christian has the opportunity to bring one eliminated designer back into the competition, and the pièce de résistance, a chance to present a final collection at New York Fashion Week. Gotham remains a main character for this fashion adventure for challenge reveals and runway shows with iconic locations such as the famous TWA Hotel at JFK, The Vessel at Hudson Yards, and Bergdorf Goodman.
