Kerekes accompanies them on their journeys of salvation, even if Alaska turns into an air conditioner and a few buckets of ice cubes for reasons of practicality. 　　故事发生在1994年的美国德克萨斯州，一位名叫尼古拉斯的13岁男孩在放学回家的路上无故失踪了，没有留下任何的线索，期间家人搜寻无果，渐渐放弃了希望，媒体也只将这起事件视为一场普通的失踪案，它并没有引起官方任何的重视。
　　一晃眼三年半过去，就在除了家人外的所有人都渐渐淡忘了尼古拉斯之际，一群游客在在西班牙南部的一个小镇里发现了一个男孩，这个男孩身体状况非常的糟糕，思维亦十分混乱，但他非常坚定的告诉大家，他就是三年半前失踪的男孩尼古拉斯。尼古拉斯失踪之后，他的母亲的健康就一落千丈，姐姐卡莉成为了失而复得的尼古拉斯的收留者，可是，这虽然是一件值得高兴的事情，但所有的人都觉得其中隐藏着什么不对劲的地方。

Janis serves as a narrator, telling us her life through the letters she wrote to her friends, relatives and lovers, leading us in a journey that starts from her childhood.

　　八一电影制片厂出品的纪录片，长津湖之战为抗美援朝第二次战役的东部战线，是朝鲜战争中最惨烈的一次战役。当时，志愿军九兵团以16万优势兵力在朝鲜东北部的长津湖地区成功分割包围了美军陆战1师和步兵第7师一部共约3万人。美军陆战第1师遭受重创，伤亡减员达13961人。重创美陆战第1师的志愿军第9兵团也付出了极大的代价，部队战斗减员达14000多人，因冻伤造成的非战斗减员更是有30732人之多。由于严寒、补给不足、火力差距和美军空中优势等原因，志愿军虽然未能达成全歼陆战1师战役目的，但这一仗扭转了中朝联军被动防御的局面，彻底让“联合国军”妄图三个月拿下朝鲜的幻想破灭了。长津湖战役创造了抗美援朝战争中全歼美军一个整团的纪录，迫使美军王牌部队经历了有史以来“路程最长的退却”。
